Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, and Habits in Calgary
Some of the most difficult things we face in life, are things that happen every day, and yet we find it impossible to change. You avoid taking on that big presentation because your anxiety might get in the way. Maybe you stopped (or never started) dating because 'what if they think I'm weird'? Or you're constantly subject to stress, maybe it's your boss, your spouse, or a chronic illness. Or you're upset at yourself, because you know what you should do but you keep procrastinating, you keep getting up too late, eating that snack that was supposed to be a weekend sweet treat...
The point is... Life's not easy. Sometimes we just need to face things with a different approach.

Sometimes these struggles are linked to current pressure: work, burnout, relationship stress, life transitions, or accumulated overwhelm.
In other cases, they are tied to older ways of coping... patterns that once made sense, but now leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or controlled by your own mind.
Anxiety, stress, and unhelpful habits often become closely connected. When your system feels overwhelmed, tense, uncertain, or emotionally overloaded, it naturally looks for relief. Sometimes that relief takes the form of overthinking, avoidance, procrastination, shutting down, staying constantly busy, or relying on behaviours that help in the moment but create difficulties over time.
Often, the problem is not that you do not understand yourself. You may already know exactly what is happening. The difficulty is that these patterns can become automatic, and once they do, they are hard to interrupt through insight alone.
The good news is that we can work together to create the best possible circumstances to make good habits easier, and bad habits rarer. One step at the time.
